A few months ago, Viola and I hosted an event in Los Angeles called "What's Your Sweet Life?" The event was created to help bloggers/entrepreneurs network, build new relationships, and help empower each other. We got together 25 beauty, fashion, food & travel bloggers at the private home of LadyBugz Catering. The night began with champagne, appetizers and gave everyone an opportunity to introduce themselves to each other. That night, our concept took flight and went in a direction we had not anticipated or even planned for. Our guests shed some skin, and let the layers of social media fall away. We felt so privileged to hear them speak so candidly about their journey. It was a beautiful & positive night filled with crazy emotions and of course, good food!
We decided we would bring it to Australia and share a bit of the sweet life while I was in town. Viola's sister Jeannie was nice enough to let us use her home for this special event. We invited the closest people to us for this particular event to share our new project with them. Our Australian friends & family had heard about the concept, seen photos on Instagram and Facebook; but weren't quite sure what it was about. How did a Creative Consultant from Australia and a Makeup Artist from LA cross paths? How did they become good friends? But most importantly, how did this collaboration come about?! Simply confusing; but every now and then, positive people come into your life and you feel a shift in gears - and suddenly magic happens.
Viola's close friend Monica spent 2 days making hand-made gnocchi and fettuccine These were definitely the dishes of the night - you could just taste the love! Viola herself, made scrumptious cakes & desserts, as to be expected! We grazed all night on cheese, sipped wine, and indulged in rich cakes to end it all. What was so wonderful, was that it was cozy, but still styled to the nines thanks to the talented Cristina Lubarda who spent weeks sourcing all the elements to bring her vision to life. The tables cape was simply stunning, and made way for the perfect evening under Sydney's stars. Check out these images captured by Shayben of Siempre.
