I recently stopped to think about how much my social circle has expanded exponentially thanks to the beauty industry and of course, social media. Although I understand some of the critique social media gets, it’s undeniably awesome that through our posts, we can reach out and make friends with personalities all around the world. What led me to this amazing realization was the friendship I built with two wonderful individuals from down under.
Prior to working with my two new Australian friends, I stumbled upon their blogs, Wedded Wonderland and Project Sweet Stuff. Although I love the beauty world, I really enjoy following blogs that allow me to venture out and keep up with other topics throughout the blogsphere including fashion, food, and anything in between. Project Sweet Stuff is a travel and food blog, while Wedded Wonderland is a blog about all things wedding. (Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing some more of my favorite blogs with you soon.)
I was a fan of both of these blogs when I was contacted by Viola of Project Sweet Stuff to set up an interview, and Wendy’s team from Wedded Wonderland to discuss a fun Instagram takeover. I was super excited to be working with both of these lovely ladies, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that my new friends were actually close friends themselves…small world, right?
The Wedded Wonderland Instagram Takeover was so much fun! I loved sharing some of my favorite bridal looks for inspiration with the Wedded Wonderland followers. I shared bridal makeup looks from brides I had worked on along with a few quick tutorials. The takeover was a hit! It was such an honor to be invited to be a part of such an incredible wedding blog. All of you brides to be should head over to www.weddedwonderland.com for endless inspiration!
When Viola from Project Sweet Stuff arrived in LA, we first met at my studio. I welcomed her with lunch from Le Pain Quotidien and later found out that one of the reasons for her visit to the States was actually an interview with the owner of Le Pain. This perfect coincidence was followed by an immediate connection and the start of an awesome friendship! We instantly became BFFs. To say we hit it off is an understatement. Viola was staying at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, where I met her for breakfast the next day. We did some shopping, took some photos for her blog over great conversations, and ended up spending the remaining three days together before she left to NYC. Needless to say, I have a long distance friend now. I can’t wait to share the interview with you as soon as it’s ready. In the meantime, check out her super cool website, www.projectsweetstuff.com for all things yummy, pretty & fabulous. Love you Viola!
