I took these photos back in June, hoping to post them for my blog post - then the palette sold out in a few hours. When they decided to bring it back a few months ago, again - I missed the boat and it sold out AGAIN! Safe to say... this has been a popular palette. For an item to sell out on the first launch - it is more/less the hype. The second time around a palette sells out - its definitely the product! Because at that point, there has been all sorts of feedbacks, tests and reviews on the item and will be more than likely, a successful relaunch. I have to say, I am in that category of positive reviewers. I decided to finally post this because, why not? It is coming back in stock tomorrow, 09/19/17! Set your alarms and make sure to purchase this. I HIGHLY recommend this be in your kit if you are a makeup artist, and also a palette you can purchase for yourself (non-makeup artists) because it really is an all in one palette. Read my review below:
As much as there has been amazing feedback on the palette overall, you're always going to hear a couple unhappy reviews. Sometimes the expectations are too high and sometimes one truly just doesn't "love" a palette - and that is totally fine as well! All reviews are relative. I am here to give you facts and have you be your own judge and you can see if it works for you! I have however done a couple tutorials on YouTube where you can see how the pigment truly comes up on the eyes. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f244vFEweo&t=4s
The palette has 35 shades in a mixture of textures from mattes, to satins, to frost and shimmer. I LOVE that this palette has a lot of warm tones. Warm tones fit every skin tone and she has a variety of the warm tones to fit not only every skin tone but also take you from a natural to a dramatic look. There are just a handful of cool toned shades and those are the "pops" of the palette - which I think is just enough for a palette! The colors blend absolutely beautiful. The fall out is minimal and the shimmer/frost shades pop up just like in the pan. Some shadows in other palettes look beautiful in the pan but the second you put it on, the color dulls out and fades. You will not have that issue with these shades. Will they pop even more using a wet brush? With shimmer shades, always!
I know a few of the complaints were about the cool toned matte shades just like I mentioned on YouTube; but keep in mind, almost always, cool toned matte shades will never look as great as warm tones. Matte cool toned pigments are just not meant to blend the same way and thats because of the ingredients in the color pigments itself, so we can't really blame Jaclyn or Morphe for this, as I am sure they did their best! The ONLY complaints I do agree with is the fact that the shade names aren't listed on it, however, it does come with a shade chart separately with the names attached. BUT if you're using a palette to create a "look"...is it essential to know what the names of the shades are? Not so much, in my opinion. My suggestion would be for them to stick that sheet on the back of the palette next time - keep everyone happy :)
Now lets come down to an important determining factor, the price! For $38, you get 38 eyeshadows. And to have the payoff that it does? No room for anyone to complain! It truly is a great investment and I think anyone can benefit with an all in one palette like this. Below you will see some swatches in regular daylight. These shades have not been altered & photo hasn't been edited. Of course, shadows will blend differently when used with a brush, so I suggest for this, watching a few videos/tutorials to see the actual payoff. But if you trust me...they're great - I promise ;)
Here are the swatches below. This wouldn't be possible without my girls at the studio helping lend an arm or two, lol! The shades are in the exact same order as the palette starting from the top row going from left to right. I hope this blog post was helpful! Would love to hear your thoughts on them or if there are any other palettes you'd like me to review, comment and let me know! Till next time, XOXO!
