Fall is officially here, beauties! The weather is getting cooler, and the trends are shifting. Okay, well the weather is not really getting colder here in LA, but fall has made an entrance nevertheless. I don’t know about you, but crisp weather and effortless, oversized fall clothing always gives me something to look forward to when everyone’s favorite season is winding down. I’m checking in to bring you a forecast of what to expect this season when it comes to makeup!
Summer trends kind of threw us for a loop this year, since colors weren’t as bright as they usually are. Vibrant tends to be the look to go for all through summer, but this year was all about the dark! Dark lips have certainly been trending, and I’ve loved it. We’ve been seeing super dark wines and purples like Dominatrix by Lorac, Heroin by Mac, or the super popular Wicked by LimeCrime. Those just happen to be some of my personal favorites, too. As far as fall hues are concerned, we can definitely expect to see these dark tones trickle into the cooler season. These sexy shades aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, so hang on tight to your favorite shades of dark lipstick, because you’ll be needing them this fall. If really dark colors aren’t your thing, try something a little subtler. Opt for a more muted look with colors like Lorac PRO Matte Lip Color in Mauve and Soar lip pencil by MAC for a more natural and deep colored lip.
Wondering what else is in the spotlight this fall? It’s no surprise that contouring is bigger than ever lately, and will continue to be a trending topic in the beauty world through the fall season. You can never go wrong with a great contour! Along with perfectly contoured faces, you can expect to see an emphasis on amazing lashes and brows. Dramatic and overemphasized lashes were seen all over the runways of New York Fashion Week this year in many shows including Gucci and Saint Laurent. Lastly, bold and distinct eyeliner is taking over this fall. Whether you love a smudged liner or a dramatic winged look, defined liner is key this season.
Last but not least, I can’t wrap up fall beauty trends without reminding you that the best way to look great during any season is to take care of your skin! Remember to stay hydrated and moisturize to avoid the dry skin and cracking that can come about during the cooler seasons. Also, just because the sun isn’t as bright, it doesn’t mean you can put away the SPF. To make sure your skin is always beautiful and healthy, hold on to the sunscreen all year long.
I hope the fall season treats you well. Thanks for reading!
